\nTo spring forth and say \u201cgood riddance.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Gatherings not recommended,<\/span>
\n\u201cBodegas, restaurants, jobs, schools, everything closed.\u201d<\/span>
\nThe world learns to adapt,<\/span>
\nWork, school, birthdays,<\/span>
\nChurch, graduations, weddings,<\/span>
\nZoom, zoom, zoom,<\/span>
\nEverything virtual from births to burials.<\/span><\/p>\n

The pitchfork at play was<\/span>
\nStirring fears, insecurities and anxiety,<\/span>
\nMixed with \u201capathy and powerlessness\u201d,<\/span>
\nTo \u201coverwhelm\u201d the senses into, <\/span>
\nSinking in helplessness and nothingness.<\/span><\/p>\n

Airborne, dry cough, fever,<\/span>
\nKiller, \u201cdeadly\u201d, \u201cdisastrous,\u201d<\/span>
\n\u201cTodo va pa\u2019 el CARAJO,\u201d<\/span>
\nEpithets aplenty:<\/span>
\n\u201cThe year from hell,\u201d<\/span>
\n\u201cThe year the world stopped,\u201d<\/span>
\n\u201cA year of many don\u2019ts,\u201d <\/span>
\n\u201cA year like no other,\u201d<\/span>
\n\u201cA fucked up year all around,\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cRegroup and find yourself,\u201d<\/span>
\n\u201cCansado, quien tiene tiempo?\u201d<\/span>
\nTime has found us, \u201ceyes peeking out,\u201d<\/span>
\n\u201cHappy to see you\u2019re alive,\u201d <\/span>
\n\u201cMiserable\u201d at the same time,<\/span>
\nWrenching pain \u201ctransmuted\u201d into survival.<\/span><\/p>\n

Children, parents, grandparents, friends, loved ones\u2026<\/span>
\nSo many have gone to find peace,<\/span>
\nDaddy left a legacy of love,<\/span>
\nMomma left a legacy of strength,<\/span>
\nMy doggie left beautiful memories,<\/span>

\nAmigo y hermano de mi alma, you found your light, thank you for being our friend.<\/span><\/p>\n

The losses at times insurmountable,<\/span>
\nParachute a \u201cfree fall\u201d of \u201cgrief,\u201d \u201cimpotence\u201d and \u201cisolation,\u201d<\/span>
\nNumbing confidence, constricting and \u201cinconvenient,\u201d<\/span>
\nThe turbine stripping souls to the core,<\/span>
\nWhat was pulling you down is no more.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNo going back to the way things were,\u201d<\/span>
\n\u201cNo time for sinverg\u00fcenzas,\u201d<\/span>
\n\u201cEvolution,\u201d devolution, revolution,<\/span>
\nGrowth, \u201cchange,\u201d \u201cchallenge\u201d and fight,<\/span>
\nFrom \u201cdeepest darkness\u201d to light,<\/span>
\n\u201cBlessed\u201d with faith and determination,<\/span>
\nAppreciation, \u201cthankful\u201d courage, <\/span>
\nA resilient \u201ctrue self\u201d and new normal will emerge.<\/span><\/p>\n

Caution, caution, caution\u2026<\/span>
\nMask up,<\/span>
\nWash your hands,<\/span>
\nY manten la distancia social,<\/span>
\n\u201cFamily,\u201d this is an act of love,<\/span>
\nPractice these simple steps diligently without paranoia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Preserve your sanity, safety first,<\/span>
\nWalk in the sun and feel the \u201cfresh air on your face,\u201d<\/span>
\n\u201cWatch flowers blossom\u201d or \u201cleaves fall,\u201d<\/span>
\nHug your child after a long day of home schooling,<\/span>
\n\u201cWalk the dog,\u201d the pet, the yoyo or\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIntrospection\u201d of spirit will lead to \u201cgratitude,\u201d<\/span>
\nReflection will show not all was bad,<\/span>
\nBabies were born, kindness renewed,<\/span>
\nThe lost were welcome into the fold,<\/span>
\nFinding \u201cpatience\u201d and \u201copportunity,\u201d<\/span>
\nGrace, faith and \u201cgenerosity\u201d too.<\/span><\/p>\n

As the year draws to a close be resolute,<\/span>
\nIt was \u201cmemorable,\u201d \u201cweird\u201d and \u201cdifferent,\u201d<\/span>
\nWe managed and cannot give up,<\/span>
\n\u201cKeep dancing in the rain,\u201d<\/span>
\nRoister ready clap your hands,<\/span>
\nClang some pots and blow some horns,<\/span>
\nBecause \u201ceverything is gonna be alright.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
