El mango pesado, un sol magullado cuelga bajo,<\/span><\/p>\n

un coraz\u00f3n henchido de la h\u00fameda pena de tardes<\/span><\/p>\n

donde las cigarras zumban un lento canto f\u00fanebre,<\/span><\/p>\n

una hoja susurrante y quebradiza.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

L<\/span>lora<\/span>. E<\/span>sta fruta, una l\u00e1grima melosa y ambarina,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

un testimonio pegajoso de lo que hemos perdido,<\/span><\/p>\n

los nombres susurrados, el miedo fantasmal y hueco,<\/span><\/p>\n

los puentes quemados, lo que el amor haya costado.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Pelaremos su piel, una piel arrugada y ocre,<\/span><\/p>\n

y encontraremos la pulpa, un atardecer, suave y profundo,<\/span><\/p>\n

una dulzura con amargura en su interior,<\/span><\/p>\n

como recuerdos que guarda la vigilia herida.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Cada mordisco goteante esun pacto de dolor silencioso,<\/span><\/p>\n

una comuni\u00f3n compartida en este calor tropical,<\/span><\/p>\n

saboreamos la p\u00e9rdida, la lluvia helada e implacable,<\/span><\/p>\n

los sue\u00f1os ca\u00eddos que yacen bajo nuestros pies.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Y en esa pulpa, la fibra, \u00e1spera y dorada,<\/span><\/p>\n

muestra los hilos del dolor entrelazados,<\/span><\/p>\n

una historia susurrada, centenaria,<\/span><\/p>\n

una carga universal.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

La semilla del mango, piedra de tono sombr\u00edo, permanece,<\/span><\/p>\n

promete una amarga floraci\u00f3n, un eco silencioso,<\/span><\/p>\n

siempre fresco y verdadero, dentro de esta compartida\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

y f\u00fanebre tumba de mango.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jean-Pierre Rueda is a bilingual poet and writer from San Jos\u00e9 Costa Rica currently residing in Compton, CA.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>In 2021, Jean-Pierre completed his first Spanish poetry collection, ‘Herencias, published by Alegr\u00eda Publishing. This anthology delves into themes of love, family, heritage, and pays homage to significant Latinx figures portraying them as pillars of artistic and cultural triumph.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>His latest creation, ‘Amor entre aguaceros\/Love between downpours,’ stands as a bilingual poetry collection. It is a heartfelt dedication to all those compelled to rely on their imagination to reconnect with their homelands when migration circumstances prevent physical return.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Jean-Pierre’s newest project is co-hosting Esquina Literaria on 1020 KTNQ AM with Emmy winning producer Pili Montilla. This segment discusses literary news, artistic events and the importance of books as svehicle to promote empathy, diversity and artistic curiosity.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>He has performed his poetry in film festivals, bookstores throughout Southern California, in Alegria Publishing’s bilingual show Latin Am\u00e9rica: A Spoken Word Play at Hudson Theaters and Beyond Baroque, as a guest on 88.5 fm The SoCal Sound’s Bilingual Sounds radio show with Byron Gonzalez, and as part of the Dolores Huerta Foundation benefit concert lineup which included El David Aguilar, Fabiola Roudha, lrene Diaz, John Redlove and other artists.<\/span><\/p>\n
