Ketzalkoatl<\/span>
\nketzal= beautiful\/precious<\/span>
\nkoatl= snake, wisdom, vibration<\/span>
\nwaves of energy that are everything<\/span>
\nA manifestation of teotl<\/span>
\nWhich is NOT a god<\/span>
\nWhich is energy<\/span>
\nBecause everything is energy<\/span><\/p>\n

Ketzalkoatl has many eyes<\/span>
\nOn many heads<\/span>
\nKetzalkoatl<\/span>
\nFour syllables, like the four elements<\/span>
\nKetzalkoatl looking through eyes<\/span>
\nAnd elements<\/span>
\nsees that colonizer historians say<\/span>
\nThe Mexika, misnamed Aztecs<\/span>
\nTwo hundred years too late<\/span>
\nAccused five hundred years later<\/span>
\nOf thinking Cortez was Ketzalkoatl\u2013<\/span><\/p>\n

Too ridiculous!<\/span><\/p>\n

If Ketzalkoatl had a body<\/span>
\nShe would roll around on the ground, laughing<\/span><\/p>\n

The former Aztecs of Aztlan<\/span>
\nWho became Mexika<\/span>
\nBut were called Aztecs<\/span>
\nBy some outdated anthropologist<\/span>
\nWith substandard research skills<\/span><\/p>\n

They knew all the constellations<\/span>
\nHad an accurate solar calendar<\/span>
\nThat puts the Gregorian calendar we use<\/span>
\nTo shame<\/span>
\nThey had medicine and surgeons<\/span>
\nBuilt a city with libraries<\/span>
\nUniversities, baths, and zoos<\/span>
\nAgriculture on a lake<\/span><\/p>\n

But these so-called historians<\/span>
\nSaid the Mexika thought Cortez was Ketzalkoatl<\/span><\/p>\n

Right<\/span><\/p>\n

The historical Ketzalkoatl<\/span>
\nWho may have been light skinned<\/span>
\nWould never have returned to smelly<\/span>
\nWho would even confuse Cortez with a god anyway?!<\/span>
\nWho would ever make up such a dumb story?<\/span>
\nWhy do they write this in kid\u2019s books?<\/span><\/p>\n

People who believe those lies<\/span>
\nAre already empty-headed or racist<\/span>
\nSo it wasn\u2019t really necessary<\/span>
\nAnd the rest of us just roll our eyes<\/span><\/p>\n

But Ketzalkoatl<\/span>
\nIf she had a body<\/span>
\nWould roll around<\/span>
\nOn the ground<\/span>
\nLaughing<\/span><\/p>\n
